The Frankfurt History App is a participatory cooperation project managed by the Historical Museum Frankfurt. Different institutions, groups and individuals are involved in each thematic layer. The imprint is therefore updated regularly. The core team of the Frankfurt History App currently consists of: Josefine Klaus, Dr. Franziska Mucha. berlinHistory e.V. is responsible for the technical development of the app.

 

Frankfurt and National Socialism

The contents of the theme layer “Frankfurt and National Socialism” are based on research and texts by Jutta Zwilling, which she compiled for the NS topography of the special exhibition "Frankfurt and National Socialism. A city joins in!" (2021/22) at the Historical Museum Frankfurt, as well as texts by Benedikt Burkard and Jenny Jung. (Publication: November 2022)

Revolution 1848/49

The content in the “Revolution 1848/49” theme layer is based on research and texts by Dr. Markus Häfner and Dr. Thomas Bauer, which they produced for the exhibition "Auf die Barrikaden: PaulskirchenParlament und Revolution 1848/49" (2022/23) by the Institute of City History. (Publication: July 2023)

Frankfurt Stories

The content in the “Frankfurt Stories” theme layer is researched, produced and constantly expanded by various people.


Reiffenstein's Frankfurt is based on research and texts by Wolfgang Cilleßen and Aude-Line Schamschula, which they wrote for the exhibition "Everything disappears! Carl Theodor Reiffenstein (1820-1893) - Pictorial Chronicler of Old Frankfurt" (2022/23) at the Historisches Museum Frankfurt. (Publication: March 2024)

Easy language

The “Easy language” theme layer was developed in collaboration with the Praunheimer Werkstätten. It contains explanations of how the app works and tours of Frankfurt's history in plain language.
