The Frankfurt History App is a participatory cooperation project managed by the Historical Museum Frankfurt. Different institutions, groups and individuals are involved in each thematic layer and contribute to the collected historical knowledge.
The Frankfurt History App gives you insights into historical topics. Today's city is the starting point from which you can actively navigate your way through history. With the app, you can follow the historical traces of the city, discover important places and personal stories. It offers historical knowledge on the go: for a quick exploration of your surroundings or for longer city tours. This knowledge is constantly being expanded, new topics and places can be added and tours can be put together yourself. The app is maintained by the Historisches Museum Frankfurt and offers an open platform for initiatives, NGOs, users, museums and archives.

Support & Funding
The Frankfurt History App is a project of the Bildungsagenda NS-Unrecht from October 2021 to December 2022, financed with the support of the EVZ Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Finance. It was implemented in the cooperation project “Frankfurt and National Socialism” with the participation of many initiatives and partners. Since then, the Historical Museum Frankfurt has been responsible for the content and has expanded it in a participatory manner. berlinHistory e.V. developed the app technically based on the model of the berlinHistory App.
